Top Tips on How to Get Dog Poop Out of Carpet

Dogs are adorable, and they make the house a happy place. They run around, and they give the best welcome home greeting. It’s always a fun part of the day to go home to your family and dogs, and they greet you with dog kisses.

The downside, however, is when they poop and urinate. When the dogs don’t get the right training or when they’re sick, they tend to poop in their ‘zone,’ and when this happens, you have no choice but to clean up after them.

Poop stains are difficult to remove, and sometimes, no matter how hard you’ve tried – the poop doesn’t go away. Poop stains don’t look good on your carpet, and worse, it may pose some health risks for you and your family. It’s essential to know the tips on getting dog poop out of carpet not only for aesthetics but also for safety.

The danger in dog poop

If not handles correctly, dog poop may cause danger. Vigilance and extreme caution must be observed. Dog poop has bacteria causing diseases and may transmit to humans. These so-called zoonotic diseases found in dog feces include Salmonella, Campylobacter, Giardia, and roundworms. Dogs don’t have to be sick even when they have these diseases within their body. You can’t tell if your dog has it, so it’s crucial always to be careful when getting rid of dog poop and ensure that you’re not in contact with it.

More than just picking it up

Cleaning your carpet and getting rid of dog poop is so much more than just picking it up and disposing of it. Dog poops are notorious for their stain and the bacteria that is spread in your living space. You need to be equipped with the right knowledge to remove that stain out from the carpet, and this involves so much more than just picking.

Get the dog poop out of the carpet properly.

Cleaning the dog poop and getting it out of the carpet depends on where it happened. Here are some of the top tips in scooping out the poop safely and ensuring that it’s properly disposed of.

Be quick, and don’t let it sit.

It’s critical to act quickly not to let the stain sit on your carpet. Pick the waste as fast as you possibly can to avoid causing permanent damage to the rug. Use a damp paper towel to scrape any excess poop from the carpet fibers. Pinch the carpet fibers to get as much fecal material as you can. Use washable or disposable gloves while removing the dog poop. Dispose of the waste in a plastic bag, tie it up, and throw it immediately in a dumpster outside your home.

Use a pet stain remover.

After removing the poop and the excess:

  1. Spray the area with a laundry stain remover or a pet stain remover.
  2. Let the solution soak the stain for as long as necessary or as directed by the manufacturer.
  3. Afterwhich, fill a bucket with cold water and 3-4 teaspoons of laundry detergent. You can create your mix of white vinegar, baking soda, and laundry detergent as well.
  4. Make sure that the mixture is soapy or bubbly to soak the stained area.
  5. Use a sponge to blot the pooped area.
  6. Be careful not to rub it, just blot.

Rinse the carpet clean

When the stain is gone, empty y our bucket and clean it thoroughly. Fill it back with clean water and use it to rinse all the soapy mixture in your carpet. Use a paper towel first to dry the area and proceed to a soft cloth to dab away all the remaining liquid gently.

Get rid of the excess odor.

Just because the stain is gone doesn’t mean that the odor is gone as well. Sometimes, the foul smell stays there even with repeated washing. Use the vinegar solution mixed in with 50% water. Spray it on the pooped area and dab it with a paper towel or soft cloth to dry. You can also use baking soda and sprinkle it on the stained area. Let it sit for 24 hours before vacuuming it the next day.

When removing carpet stains, time is a critical factor. You need to attend to it as quickly as possible and not let the stain seep thru the carpet thoroughly. Doing so will make the removal process a much challenging task.

Top Tips for Commercial Upholstery Cleaning

Businesses ensure that their commercial space stays clean, fresh, and germ-free. Clean every nooks and cranny of the offices – the floors, the bathrooms, the surface, and desks. However, there’s one thing that’s often overlooked when cleaning, the upholstery. Sometimes, companies don’t address the upholstery unless when they are noticeably dirty. It shouldn’t be the case as dirty upholstery can have adverse effects on your employees and visitors.

Importance of Commercial Upholstery Cleaning

Cleaning upholstery isn’t just for a good office appearance. It’s also to extend the lifespan of your office furniture. You get the most of your investment if you’re able to use them for a much longer time.

Upholstery materials get all kinds of dirt because of regular use. The allergens and all those bacteria will affect the overall working environment. Certain types of bacteria can live for days on hard surfaces and other upholstery. Allergens easily trigger employees with asthma, and it also aggravates their condition. It will result in a stuffed nose, sneezing, and probably filing a sick leave.

Regular cleaning of upholstery is critical in ensuring that your commercial space has a healthy work environment. Don’t wait for your upholstery to gather dirt and allergens that will eventually harm your health and that of your workers.

Tips for commercial upholstery

Your upholstery isn’t just items in your office. They are also representations of the service you offer to your clients. They help in giving that good first impression. Your upholstery deserves care and attention.

Create a cleaning schedule

Clean your upholstery at least once every ear. Others would opt for a regular cleaning interval. The recommended is a six-month interval. For this frequency, companies prefer to hire professional commercial upholstery cleaners for efficiency.

Invest in stain protection products

Furniture sellers and professional upholstery cleaners know the nature and material of your upholstery. They know the best stain protection products best suited to your upholstery. The stain protection serves as a layer of protection between your furniture and the stain that may come in contact with it.

Put them in the right position.

Upholstered sofas and chairs can’t be exposed directly to the sunlight. Upholstered made of fine fabrics, leather or leatherette, can’t be exposed to sunlight for a long period. The ultraviolet rays of the sun deteriorate and shorten the lifespan of the upholstery. A little sunlight exposure now and then is fine but make sure to draw the blinds.

Clean with care

Some upholstery needs more care than others. Leather surfaces need extra care as some contaminants that come in contact with it worsens the leather’s condition. Your leather upholstery has to be cleaned correctly to not cause damage. It’s best to put up a cleaning schedule and program to extend your leather upholstery’s life.

Don’t skip a thing

Cover all the bases to ensure that your upholstery is squeaky clean. Include the panels, the cubicle dividers, the conference tables, and other upholstery that may not get as much attention as the others. The desks and other countertops get a lot of debris, dust, dyes, and other dirt. Sanitize these hard surfaces regularly.

Flip regularly

Flip your upholstered cushions for both the seat and the back cushions. Frequent flipping will evenly wear out your cushions and will keep the shape for a longer time.

Hire a professional commercial upholstery service

Hiring a professional is the last of our list of tips for commercial upholstery. Professional cleaners have the equipment and the expertise to ensure that your upholstered furniture is deep cleaned, a process that isn’t possible with simple vacuuming. Most upholstery cleaners use several methods, including hot water extraction, and apply antimicrobial cleaning solutions to make your upholstered clean, fresh-looking, and smelling better.

Don’t let your upholstery stay just as it is and only clean it when it’s visibly dirty. Call in the help of professionals and set up a regular deep cleaning with them to restore your upholstery’s aesthetics.

Super Kleen offers several services, including commercial upholstery cleaning services. Our professional and expert cleaners are always ready to help with your upholstery needs. How to Deal with Red Stain on Carpet

Not all stains are easy to remove. Some take a little more than just your average stain remover, and that one big red stain on your carpet is the perfect example, along with mustard and coffee stains. Even professional carpet cleaners have a difficult time taking away red stains on mats. Time is of the essence when it comes to removing the red stains on the carpet. When you leave the red stain on the carpet for a longer time, removing it later will become a real challenge.

Identify and remove the red stain.

Identifying the carpet fiber type and whether the stain is natural, synthetic, or human-made is the first step in removing the stain.

Synthetic red stains

Red Kool-Aid stain is an example of a synthetic red stain. It’s difficult to take these kinds of stains because of the dye. Other synthetic red stains include liquid cough medicines, lipstick, and colored juices.

Use a reducing agent with sodium metabisulfite to remove the synthetic red stain on the carpet. Mix the reducer per the specification and apply it to the stained area and let it sit for a time. Use a damp towel and steam if you want to fasten the process. You can use a wallpaper steamer or an iron for your steam. Don’t overdo it and risk removing the original color of your carpet along with the stain. Rinse the carpet or the stained area to remove all the debris. However, a single application will not work if the stain has stayed on the carpet for a long time.

Natural Stains

Red wine is an organic red stain. Natural stains include tomato-based juices like ketchup and pasta sauce, cherry juices, and others.

Hydrogen peroxide is effective in removing natural red stains on carpets. Always follow the right manufacturer specifications when mixing the oxidizing agent. Use the same process as that of synthetic stains. Use a damp towel to apply the oxidizing agent into the stain, followed by the steam. Don’t use too much heat so as not to remove the carpet’s original color.

Use a vinegar mixture.

Vinegar mixture isn’t as fast and powerful compared to reducing agents, but it’s also not as harsh. It’s a straightforward mix as vinegar and water are readily available in every home. Use white vinegar, not apple cider or balsamic vinegar, as these two have dyes that can further stain your carpet. Mix one cup of white vinegar with 2 cups of warm water and rub it to the stained area. Let it sit for a few minutes, then extract the solution using a cloth or towels.

If the stains are still there, then perhaps it’s time to hire a professional! Stains can be problematic, but professional cleaners have the right tools, equipment, and experience to battle it out with the stains on your carpet. You don’t have to DIY your carpet stains. You can ask our professional cleaners to take care of your homecare issues for you.

Top 6 Most Effective Types of Carpet Cleaning

We would always look for ways to save money and resort to do-it-yourself projects to take care of our homes. Carpet cleaning is often a project that we try to take care of ourselves, but the truth is, carpet cleaning requires specialist knowledge. Professionals can do a much better and cleaner job for your carpets.

Today, several carpet cleaning companies claim to be the best in the field, but they don’t necessarily use the same methods. Remember, some approaches are more effective than others. It is essential to know what strategies and types of carpet cleaning a company use before hiring professionals.

Effective types of Carpet Cleaning

Here are some of the most effective types of carpet cleaning that professionals use today.

Steam carpet cleaning

Steam carpet cleaning or hot water extraction is one of the most effective types of carpet cleaning. This method uses high-pressure hot water to convulse the fibers in the carpet and dissolve the dust in it. This method involves applying a cleaning agent on the carpet, brushing it in high-pressure hot water, and finally rinsing it. The washed carpet is then left to dry at an air-conditioned temperature. On average, an office carpet or home carpet takes about 2 hours to clean and about 4 hours to dry. Most professional cleaners suggest homeowners schedule their carpet cleaned in the afternoon and let it dry overnight.

Dry extraction cleaning

Dry extraction is a newer method of carpet cleaning. It’s both practical and time-efficient as it doesn’t need any drying time.

Dry extraction doesn’t use water. Instead, it uses cleaning powder and a rotating brush machine. The powder settles on the carpet’s fibers, and then it’s vacuumed to remove the powder and the soil. Commercial spaces often use dry extraction to clean their carpet since their floor covering is frequently cleaned. Other companies have taken this further and add oxygenated cleanse to further take out the first in the carpet’s base.

Bonnet carpet cleaning

This type of carpet cleaning requires professional skills and equipment. This method needs a heavy-duty motorized machine with a spinning pad. Cleaning companies use cleaning products with carbonated water and spray it to the carper. An absorbent pad is attached to the surface of the carpet to absorb the dust and dirt.

Most hotels and commercial spaces use this type of carpet cleaning because it’s efficient, and it doesn’t disturb the working hours of the workers, the guest, and the visitors. It is, however, only a temporary solution. Bonnet cleaning isn’t as thorough and doesn’t offer deep cleaning, unlike other types of carpet cleaning.

Shampoo Cleaning

It’s one of the most common carpet cleaning methods and the most authentic in removing dust, germs, and soil from your carpet. It’s the best approach for taking out heavy soil from the fiber of carpets.

The professional cleaner applies shampoo on the carpet and scrubs the carpet using a moisture brush. It creates a foam that attracts all the dirt, dust, and soil. Professionals deeply vacuum the carpet to remove the shampoo and the soil. They leave the carpet to dry after the cleaning process.

Encapsulation

This type of carpet cleaning uses synthetic detergents that crystallize into powder when dries. Professional cleaners first vacuum the carpet and apply the chemical solution to it. They put the carpet into a rotary agitation machine to allow the chemical to separate the dirt, dust, and soils from the carpet, making it easier to clean and vacuum. Unlike shampooing, this type of carpet cleaning uses less water and thus takes lesser drying time. For homeowners, repeat the process every day for a week to fully clean your carpet.

Foam Carpet Cleaning

Foam carpet cleaning is a mix of two types of carpet cleaning – the shampoo method and the dry cleaning method.

Professional cleaners apply a cleansing foam and a small amount of water to the carpet.

The cleansing foam attracts the dirt and the harmful in the carpet. It’s the best approach for tougher carpets. Carpet cleaning takes time, and it requires skills and equipment that most homeowners don’t have.

Get back the pristine condition of your carpets with the help of professional cleaners. Here in Super Kleen, we have a team of experienced and local cleaners who’ve been providing quality service for years. Don’t hesitate and call us now.

The Perks of Carpet Dry Cleaner Services

Carpet is like any other upholstered furniture, except that it’s more exposed to wear and tear as it’s frequently soiled and dirtied. Most times, your efforts of carpet cleaning are just not enough. The usual vacuuming and scrubbing processes aren’t enough to get your carpet back in its pristine condition. This is where a professional carpet dry cleaner comes in.

Carpet Dry Cleaner Process

The carpet dry cleaning process involves removing the stains and dirt on the carpet. The result is a clean, soft, and naturally scented carpet. A professional’s work is free of residues and toxic chemicals that are good for children and pets.

Vacuuming is the first step in carpet cleaning to remove the surface dirt. Apply the dry cleaning solution to small areas, and it’s left to sit to let the solution seep into the carpet and break down the soil and other dirt. Use an absorbent pad and put it into a heated solution. Rotate the hot pad over the carpet, and the floor machines absorb the cleaning solution and the oil. Dry the carpet for about three hours, and it’s then ready to go.

The best thing about carpet dry cleaning is that it leaves your carpet dry enough to walk on just after an hour after the entire process has been completed. The effectiveness lies in the solution that a cleaning service uses. When a less effective dry cleaning solution is used, the soil may not break down completely, and they may not be washed off entirely.

Cost-effective Method

Many think that hiring professionals is expensive, and this is a common misconception. The truth is, hiring professionals is the most efficient way. It’s also cost-effective as it’s only a one-time fee. Doing DIY projects and following some carpet cleaning hacks may cost you more, and the result may not be as good.

Eliminates carpet stains

Carpet dry cleaners can remove even the toughest of stains. Professionals use several methods, including the hot water extraction method, to remove stains such as wine spills, dirt and mud, ink, pet stains, coffee stains, and more. The entire process reduces the possibility of worsening localized soiling. It also allows for deeper cleaning to thoroughly remove all the dirt and stains.

Remove the stains on your carpet, and your home will look even better. That will improve the overall ambiance of your home.

Choosing the right service

Several companies are offering the same carpet dry cleaning service. It’s going to be hard to choose which one fits your needs. A good dry cleaning company provides the best service for their clients. Here at Super Kleen, we have professionals who will come to your home and work on your carpet. We use solvents that aren’t harsh to your family’s health, especially those sensitive to scents.

You need not worry about chemical exposure during the cleaning process as our ingredients are all environment friendly. Our professional cleaners are experienced and have been offering services to the local community. We ensure that your carpets look good and adequately cleaned for you and your family.

Effective Ways on How to Get Blood Stains Out of Carpet

There are more ways to remove your carpet’s stains than just direct vacuuming. Stains are tricker than that. Homeowners often stockpile carpet stain remover when they install carpets in their homes. It’s prevention and also a way to remove the stains from carpets as quickly as possible. Home carpets are prone to spills and stains with all the activities going on in your home. Don’t worry! We have a list of practical ways on how to get stains out of the carpet right here.

Identify the Stain

Getting rid of stains start with identifying what type of stain it is. It is essential to know what type it is before deciding the kind of formula you can use to remove it. Most homeowners and even professional cleaners use stains and spots interchangeably, but the two are different in truth. Spots are on the outside of the carpet fibers while the stain is on the inside of it. Spots also have a texture, whereas stains do not. You may remove a spot and discover that there’s still stain on the carpet – a perfect example is a mustard stain.

Location

It’s critical to determine where the spot is located to know if it’s just a spot or a stain. Carpets in dining halls and common areas are prone to food stains. Carpets in the entryways are often victim to grease, animal feces, and soils.

Appearance

Consider the spot or the stain carefully and check how it looks. Cleaners have ample expertise and knowledge, and they know whether the spot or the stain is organic or synthetic. Organic stains are dull in color and appear brownish. It’s also sticky. Synthetic stains, on the other hand, look shiny. Stains and spots also differ in thickness and depth.

Smell

While smelling the spots or stains require stamina, some homeowners and cleaners would stick their nose to the stain and take a sniff.

Removing the Stains

Once you’ve identified the type of stain or spot, you can then choose a practical approach to removing it.

Remove Kool-Aid stains by gently blotting them with a white towel. When it comes to stains, the rule of thumb is never to rub, only to blot away the stain from the outside to the inside. Use a white vinegar solution mixed in with dish soap and water. Put the solution in a spray bottle and spray it to the area liberally. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, and then start blotting it with a clean cloth.

Pet stains are challenging to remove. The first plan of action is to clean up the stain and its surrounding area. Take out the debris on the carpet ad dispose of it. Blot the area of the stain if it’s still wet. Do it repeatedly until the area is dried and the stain is removed. If the stain has already dried up and has seeped into the fiber, your next step is to moisten it. Apply the carpet stain removal and proceed with the blotting technique. Let it soak and move with the blotting method. Repeat it until the stain is gone. Use the same process for carpet stains. If the vinegar mix doesn’t work, use a bleach solution.

Bloodstains on carpets are difficult to remove. Time is of the essence, so be quick in removing these kinds of stains. The faster you remove them, the better chances you have of success. For blood stains, use cold water to dampen the area. The cold water prevents the stain from seeping further into the carpet. Use a grease-fighting liquid, liquid dish detergent, and cold water. Spray it on the stained area and use a dry cloth so the bloodstain transfers from the carpet to the cloth. Rinse again with cold water and repeat the process until necessary.

Removing stains is not merely enough, especially pet stains. There are always foul smell residues. Even without the stain, the stench smell remains. Use a spray of baking soda mix to the stained area and let it sit for 30 minutes. Vacuum the carpet with a usual vacuum cleaner and d it again if the smell remains. You can use vinegar as well, but this method takes a longer time to get off the lingering smell.

If the stain is too difficult to remove, you can always hire a professional to remove the stain for you. Professional carpet cleaners are equipped with the right solutions and machines to deal with your carpet stains.

The Importance of Upholstery Cleaning

Carpets often get most of the care. They’re regularly vacuumed, they’re laundered, and they’re dried. Most homeowners, however, forget that their upholstery needs the same level of care. Upholstery and furniture cleaning is just as important as one’s regular home tasks, but we take it for granted, especially if we don’t see any visible stains. It doesn’t even take a spot in the priority list. Upholstered furniture such as ottoman, chairs, tables, and others need to be cleaned regularly.

Here are some of the reasons why upholstery cleaning is of utmost importance.

Maintaining aesthetics

The upkeep of your upholstery impacts the overall feel and aesthetics of your home. Over time, however, dirt and dust accumulate not only on the surface but also in its deeper parts. It makes the dirt unnoticeable to untrained eyes. The more you let it be, the more dirt will accumulate in your upholstery. Eventually, the act of merely wiping the surface isn’t enough to restore it to its original shine.

Providing a healthy home environment

It feels so much better to sit on a clean couch than a dirty one. It feels inviting. The air around it seems more hygienic. It isn’t a feeling; it’s the truth. Bacteria, germs, dust, and other allergens are eradicated when you deep clean your upholstery. Families spend a great deal of time in their living rooms. Some would order pizza and eat it right on their tables and couches. The leftover foods, the mess, and the human traffic – all these factors contribute to the accumulated dirt in your upholstery.

Cleaning your couch and chairs regularly is crucial if you don’t want to sit on dirt while streaming Netflix with your family and friends.

Benefits of Upholstery Cleaning

Keeping the foul odor in your home

Many things happen on the couch. It’s a witness to many movie nights, midnight snacks, countless Chinese to-go, and many more. For others, it may have been their baby’s feeding station and nappy changes. The living room is often a family’s favorite spot in the house as it allows them to bond over shows, foods, drinks, and sports.

All these activities contribute to the foul odor that couches often have. The bad thing about odors is that it stays in upholstery for a long time. Upholstery cleaning keeps the odor away and removes the source of the smell.

Extends longevity

Upholstery cleaning extends the durability and lifespan of upholstery. You save more money in the long run. The furniture is an investment and an expensive one. You will do what you can to make sure that you get the best of your investment and that they last for a good time.

Will a DIY upholstery cleaning do?

You may be opting to do your upholstery cleaning. While that is a good notion, professionals don’t see that as a good idea. Upholstery cleaning, similar to carpet cleaning, is a difficult task. Some issues arise during the cleaning process, and without the tools and experience, you are ill-equipped to take on the damages.

Professional cleaners know what to do, and they do it right the first time. They don’t waste resources, and they don’t waste time. Call Super Kleen now and schedule an appointment for upholstery cleaning
